David Rosales, a Mexican-American by nationality, was born in Whittier, California, raised in Norwalk, California, and received early religious training as a Roman Catholic. Being involved in drug and alcohol abuse from 1965 to 1970, David considered himself a kind of "fringe member" of what was called, at that time...the "hippie movement". As a product of the so-called "love generation", David searched for meaningful answers, finding none.

-Rock Bottom-
During the summer of 1970, after five years of increasing rebellion, including arrests on three different occasions for alcohol related offenses, David, now 19 years old was invited to attend a church service in a small church located in Costa Mesa, California. The church was called Calvary Chapel, and though David rejected the opportunity given him that day to receive salvation through Jesus, it was here that the seed of the gospel was first planted. Later that year, on December 27, 1970, a Christian event was held at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California. The messages and music were Christ centered, and when an invitation to receive Christ was given, David opened his heart and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

-The Calling-
David immediately went home and shared the gospel with his friends and family. David led his sister Madelyn to the Lord that day, and his father and mother received Christ a month later. Three and a half years later, his brother Frank came to the Lord and, a few years ago, on an Easter Sunday, his sister Rebecca gave her heart to Jesus.

-Family-
David met and married his wife Marie while teaching a home Bible study in the city of Ontario, California. They have raised four lovely children, Carin Marie, David Aaron, Joseph Andrew, and Anna Rebekah. Carin is married to David Ayres and they have a son, Josiah and a daughter, Sophia.

-The Blessing: Serving the Inland Empire since 1974-
David began teaching the Bible in September of 1973, and after 6 years of leading home studies, in 1979 he was ordained and given a full time opportunity to serve on a Calvary Chapel staff where he served as assistant Pastor for 2 years. On July 26, 1981, Calvary Chapel of Ontario began to meet, with 25 adults, and approximately 20 children. In 1985 Calvary Chapel Chino merged with Calvary Chapel of Ontario and took over their incorporation, thus becoming Calvary Chapel Ontario as well as Calvary Chapel Chino. The church moved in 1992 from the city of Ontario to the City of Chino, and is now known as Calvary Chapel of the Chino Valley. Calvary Chapel Chino Valley has continued to grow over the past several years, and presently ministers to over 8,300 people (children included) weekly. The fellowship meets for studies and events 7 days a week, and continues to grow on a weekly basis. There are also currently 20 daughter churches all throughout the world which have come out of Calvary Chapel Chino Valley. David was led to begin a radio ministry, which is presently heard on stations throughout the United States. He considers teaching the Bible to be one of the greatest and most exciting privileges any person can have the opportunity to do. It is his prayer that whether you are joining him in a weekly study here on campus at Chino Valley, reading any of his books, or listening to his teachings through A Sure Foundation Radio Ministry... that you will be encouraged and strengthened in your walk with our Lord Jesus Christ.
